Thelonious Monk, alone in San Francisco
Just had to share that feeling. I”m bliss zilla out by this music. The cover alone is lovely, Monk hangin out of the front door of a trolley car, the #526 to be exact. Cut and paste from back in the day for sure, and just nice. The music. I”m not going to talk about the music much, the feeling from it is light, polished, and heavy with bounce and sway.
Everything Happens To Me has me wafting in smile. There is something about many things fitting into a space they seem unable able to fit into. That might just be the afternoon sun hitting my thoughts just right, or even just wrong. However things are aligned, it feels nice to settle into summer. I’m here and now, but I could have been anywhere, anytime with these notes. What a funny crap line just there, I might be the modern day album liner note joker. The point about what Monk is really causing here, is the softness of my shoulders, stress jumped off in the middle of side 2.
