Chocolate Cake Planter

There is this Chocolate cake that I buy about once every two months. I wait this long between buying it because I eat the whole thing within 48 hours. Yeah, it’s just something I do. Another thing I like to do, is re use packaging as much as possible, especially for planting up house plants. The dome of this packaging has a #3 recycling type on stamped on it, and I could just put it in with the rest of the recycling, but I had three Kalanchoe (Beharensis “roseleaf”) That needed a home. Ideally I would use the bottom part of the cake packaging as the saucer for the Dome planter part. But it had a 3″ raised section in the middle, and the dome when place upside down on it, wouldn’t sit right. So instead of poking hole in the bottom, I will just plant it as a planter without drainage. One just has to be careful not to overwater, and allow the soil to be bone dry before adding more water. These are succulents, so this won’t be a problem. Easy Peasy…..

Add drainage rock, I went with two inches because of the lack of holes at the bottom, extra is good if you have the room.

Add proper potting mix, I got this nice succulent cacti mix from work (Sprout Home)

Deng Bang! Anyone know what that means? Who knows…. well I do, but this is not what is important. Neither is the Super Bowl, I mean… blech, NY and Boston represented. lame. On a weird note, Warm in Chicago lately, Mayan shits might be up on the truth. The word Shits has been way overdone with this post. So yeah. Feeling a bit of a panic about possible changes that may be coming up, I don’t do change very well. But heya, this is what life is suppose to be, change and such. So lets roll people. Do what you need to do to be happy. Like Mary J said.

And I just thought that was an old dusty blues song. It’s actually a bit more. It’s where I’m at. The good news is that I’m not sitting here in my sometimes bitter complaining mood. I feel good about things in general. So good, that there is a bit of focus coming in. I have always been that person that waits for people to see the good in me, and then I expect them to act on it, dating, work, random whatever. But I feel that a more proactive route is needed. And just bringing myself to write this feels good. Has my head been up my ass this whole time? Sadly, I think so. So yeah, 2012=Good Vibes. I kind of don’t believe the whole Mayan calendar deal, but I also kind of do. So lets have some fun this year.

I have been getting this feeling like I might be letting down the inner fight club fan inside myself. I am collecting a bunch of stuff in my home that I like, I like how I place it, I like how it looks… But really, it’s a collection of junk. In the big picture of things, I call it junk. Nice looking planters, bookshelves, chairs, display shelves, stuff. Yeah, it’s stuff you need i guess, to have a nice looking place and all. But I just keep thinking of how Edward Norton was told by Brad Pitt that his shit was just junk, a collection of filler that makes him feel like he is accomplishing things in life. Maybe it’s time to peep this attitude again. I do like my stuff though.

And yeah… Derrick Rose is still the shit. Don’t sleep on him again, that would be lame. Say you are not really into sports at all, no big deal, just watch an interview with this young man, seriously. Craigslist Free Section Reflection

I have just had a pretty good run with Craigslist. I scored a new mattress, and a new bed frame, both are beyond pimp, and both have combined to give me the best sleep I have had in years… No kidding, years. I got these items for $50 each, just good people not trying to rip people off. Very fair pricing. I thought I would pull some kind of Oprah, and pay it forward. I posted my full size Ikea Malm bed that I bought from Craigslist 5 years ago in the free section. I got 103 emails for the bed, in less than 12 hours. Needless to say, I was a bit overwhelmed by the amount. I thought I would search through the emails and find the “single parent that needs a bed for their kid” or something, but they all seemed to be in these kinds of situations. I went with Jose email. I will come right now if you call me. He emailed at 6:48am, I woke up at 8, I called him. He just picked it up. Not quite the single parent sad story. Jose needed the bed so he could finish setting up a bedroom in his brothers basement, he was on some post divorce moves. ”instead of arguing about who got what, I just let her take everything, she even has the kids”, Ok, Jose, this bed is yours. It’s a tough time out there, lots of good in the world, but for sure lots of people hurting. Hurting hearts, Hurting water, Hurting air, Hurting pocketbooks. I’m fully rested from my new bedding, I think I will take this restfulness into my day on a positive tip. Happy Thursday fools.

A new snuggylike product is out… It’s called Lazy Forever. It’s the latest in “lazy wear”. Holy shit… We are actually near some tipping point. I know I know, I’ve been letting the history channels very well done UFO shows get me a bit loose, regarding the wacky ways of the world lately. But the Lazy Forever gear is some sunny ass oversized sweat suits, they are calling loose fitting sweat suit pajama soft joints some lazy wear… Brilliant and super wack. On this note, let’s all pull together and keep these young women from wearing pajama pants out in the world, it’s the equivalent of saggin pants… “Be you! Yep, got it, that’s you, but look at you…” there, that can be out cry.

Donald Trump will be moderating a republican debate in Iowa later this month. Shits real, in a funny haha kind of way. Gingrich. Romney. Cain when he was up, Perry. Uhm… Obama, please step up to this hot mess. If 2016 rolls around, and change didn’t come, I would believe it would take some 99% Obama hook up action, to really win in 2012, then Change… If not, let’s have a third party reality. Say word?
